What We Believe
I. THE BIBLE INSPIRED. We believe that Gods Word is the Authorized King James Bible. It is the perserved, inspired, inerrant and infallible translation for english speaking people. It is the final Authority in all spiritual and practical matters. (II Peter 1:20-21; Psalms 12:6-7; II Timothy 3:16-17) II. SALVATION. We believe that salvation is by grace through faith alone. Salvation is freely offered to every man that is born into the world but because mankind is depraved, no man can come to God on his own. There is nothing in man that deserves nor can earn Gods saving Grace. Without the convicting power of the Holy Spirit and the drawing power of God the Father, man is dead to God, in bondage to sin. Once a person is convicted and realizes that he needs God, he must then choose to repent, which is to turn from sin and unto God or choose to rebel and reject God. Repentance of sins and faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to have a personal relationship with God. We believe that our election and predestination is solely based upon Gods forknowledge of our faith and repentance. We believe in the eternal security of believers, meaning once a person is saved, they are eternally saved. The precious blood of the sinless and spotless Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, is the only escape from eternal death in the lake of fire and is the only way to have eternal life in heaven. (John 1:1-18; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16-17; Luke 13:3-5; John 5:24; Acts 4:12; John 6:44; John 6:65; I John 5:10-13; II Peter 3:9; I John 10:29; Romans 7:18; I John 10:29; Romans 8:29-30; I Peter 1:2) III. THE HOLY TRINITY. We believe that God, who is eternal, omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient, is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit who are three distinct persons in one. (Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Luke 1:35; John 1:14) IV. THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST. We believe that Jesus Christ, the Messiah, was born of a virgin. He lived a perfect and sinless life, died for our sins, was buried and arose from the dead, being the Saviour of mankind. (Acts 2:32; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Matthew 27:66; John 20:27-28) V. THE FALL OF MAN. We believe that man was created in the likeness and image of God. Being created in innocence, man chose sin and separated himself from God, making himself a candidate for eternal destruction in the lake of fire. (Genesis 1:26; 1 Corinthians 2:27; Revelation 20:11-15) VI. THE DEVIL. We believe that the devil and his angels who are created beings will experience final defeat in the lake of fire that burns with fire and brimstone. (1 Peter 5:8; 1 Thessalonians 3:5; Ephesians 2:2; Revelation 12:9-10; Revelation 20:10) VII. THE CHURCH. We believe that Christ is the head of the church. All born-again believers are members of the church which is the body of Christ. As believers, we should be baptized by immersion and prayerfully seek and serve in a local, New Testament Baptist church. (Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 5:23-32; Colossians 2:12) VIII. THE PREMILLENIAL RETURN OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. We believe that the Church will be caught up, or "raptured" before the seven year tribulation period. Then Jesus Christ with the saints will return to the earth and will rule and reign for one thousand years, this is the millennial reign. After this, death and hell will be judged at the Great White Throne Judgement and cast into the lake of fire. (1 Corinthians 15:4-8; Romans 8:34; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Daniel 12:2; John 5:25-29; Revelation 20:4-5) IX. THE PURPOSE OF THE NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH. We believe that outreach by witnessing, public evangelism, open air preaching and missions is the essential purpose of all New Testament churches. (Matthew 28:19-20; John 20:19-21) X. A LITERAL HEAVEN AND HELL . We believe the realities of heaven and hell. Heaven is the everlasting reward of the righteous and that hell is the everlasting punishment of the wicked. (Matthew 25:46; Luke 16:19-25; Revelation 21:8) XI. DISTINCTIVE BAPTIST DOCTRINES. We believe that Baptists stand for vital and distinctive doctrines to which other denominations do not. We cannot compromise these doctrines without disloyalty to the Scriptures and our Lord Jesus Christ. We stand against the Ecumenical Movement, the Chairsmatic Movement, Arminianism (Easy Believism) and Calvinism (T.U.L.I.P.)
